The drinking gallery of medical water of Essentuki No. 17 will be overhauled in 2023, the press service of the administration of the resort city reported.
The buildings of the XIX century will be restored to their former appearance, engineering networks will be restored, the foundation and facade will be strengthened. Construction works will cost the regional budget 62 million rubles.
"All parts of the building built in 1858 on an area of 712 square meters are subject to restoration. The works will concern engineering networks, foundations, facades, roofs. We plan to recreate the plaster facades on brick surfaces, restore the texture of the surface with a buchard finish, column capitals, pillars and pilasters, wall cladding with granite slabs. It will also require the restoration of the zenith lantern — the glass dome above the main hall of the gallery," commented Umukusum Datayasheva, director of the Caucasus Social and Wellness Center, which deals with the issue of reconstruction of the attraction.
Recall that the drinking gallery is the oldest building of the Essentuki Resort Park. In addition, the health institution is considered an object of cultural heritage of federal significance.
