Legends of Honey Waterfalls

And you knew that... 37 km from Yessentuki there is an extraordinarily beautiful place that every tourist who comes to relax on the KMV should visit.

These are Honey waterfalls in the Alikonovsky gorge with the purest air, picturesque views of mountains, gorges and waterfalls, with delicious traditional dishes of the KCR.

According to legend, the waterfalls got their tasty name because of bees nesting in the rocks. According to legend, in the spring, the melted snow carried the honeycombs deep into the crevices of the mountain river. Bee honey also flowed down the rocks there, making the water taste special. Legend has it that wild bees once lived in these rocks, and during the spring flood, the honey that washed into the river turned the water sweet.

According to another version, newlyweds from wealthy families came here to spend their "honeymoon" here.

Another version goes like this: One day the king of a powerful land told his servants: "Urgently find me a paradise on this earth!". And the king's servants scattered all over the planet in search of an amazing corner. They passed fields, meadows, swamps, plains, mountains, rivers… They had already lost all hope, but suddenly, as if out of nowhere, a river gorge rose up in front of them, led by a cascade of waterfalls. And they realized that this is the real paradise on earth! Swarms of wild bees lived peacefully in the rocks on the riverbank. Over time, the rains eroded the honeycombs, and drops of honey rapidly flowed down the rocks. The king's servants were delighted with such a picturesque picture and therefore quickly nicknamed this heavenly place "Honey Waterfalls".

It has been a long time, and the sun still rises in the morning in the area of these incredible honey waterfalls.
