We decided to recall a little bit from the history of the foundation of sanatorium and resort activities and share 5 facts about sanatorium holidays in the USSR
1. Previously, sanatoriums were called health resorts. Since 1919, former aristocratic and imperial estates have been converted into them.
2. Vouchers to health resorts were paid by the state (in full or by 70%). To get a ticket, it was necessary to provide a referral from a doctor.
3. The duration of treatment and rest in the health resort ranged from 24 to 52 days, no less.
4. The check-in was not individual: at any time a stranger could be moved into the room.
5. It was in health resorts that natural healing factors began to be applied: mineral waters, mud, climate.
Such were the sanatoriums in the twentieth century. Many things from those times have survived to this day and are being improved from year to year.
